Course Objectives

There are various forms of Business Writing. Correspondence, be it snail-mail or e-mail is the most common form, besides the memos and notices. With the internet, other social media posts – blog posts, video scripts have become common. Nonetheless, there are guidelines which make the written document, physical or on-line, worth the reader’s time.

The pivotal aspect is to be able to use the English language correctly. As Edward Deming succinctly put it, “In God we trust, all others bring data”. Therefore, Business Writing is always grammatically correct and enthused with empirical evidences.

With the onslaught of social media posts and others as Business Writing, it is also important to ensure the different readers’ needs are reciprocated by the writing. It is the writer’s assessment and evaluation that will determine the most suitable form.
